The bioincubation facilities in Dublin City University have been funded by Enterprise Ireland and are located in Invent, a 2,800 m2 purpose-built innovation and enterprise centre with state-of-the-art facilities, which offers a dynamic, knowledge environment for entrepreneurs. Invent's principal objective is to transform knowledge into commercial success.

Dublin City University
Dublin City University has a number of internationally renowned research centres in the life sciences carrying out research into biomedical diagnostics, biophotonics, nanotechnology, sensors, cancer and oncology, vascular biology and cellular biotechnology. DCU has four national research centres, over 500 staff involved in research and a state-of-the-art library.

Lab Facilities
Fume cupboards, de-ionised water supply, fire and smoke alarms, controlled access, 3-phase electricity, gases (natural gas, nitrogen, carbon dioxide). Access to specialised equipment on the DCU campus can also be arranged.

Office Facilities
Provided as part of the rental package.

The management team of Dr Tony Glynn (Director of Invent) and Ron Immink (Operations Manager) together with Dr Noel Daly (Commercialisation Specialist, EI Bio) works closely to resolve clients' issues and to provide them with the best business back-up and resources.

Does DCU take equity in companies?
Start-up companies locating in Invent from outside Dublin City University are normally required to give the university a 5% share in equity.
