EI Bio - Commercialisation

ENTERPRISE IRELAND LIFESCIENCE & FOOD COMMERCIALISATION GROUP (EI BIO)

Enterprise Ireland aims to ensure that Ireland is a competitive, knowledge-based economy capable of sustainable growth. Because commercialising technology is vital to achieve this aim, Enterprise Ireland has established expert commercialisation teams working across the academic-industry interface in three key technology areas lifescience & food, informatics and industrial technologies.

This section is dedicated to the Enterprise Ireland Lifescience and Food Commercialisation Group (EI Bio) and outlines how we can help you to commercialise your research.

    FINANCIAL SUPPORT

    ACADEMIC RESEARCH FUNDING

Proof of Concept funding is available to individuals or small groups who wish to demonstrate that their ideas have originality and true commercial potential.

Ideas should have the potential to form the basis of a new high growth business or a licence to an existing company.

Technology Development funding supports the transformation of applied research into technologies of potential medium term interest to industry in Ireland. It aims to develop technologies, products or processes that can provide the basis of new businesses in Ireland or can improve the competitiveness of industry in Ireland through licensing agreements.

Commercialisation Plus provides predefined support to technologies that have been developed to an advanced stage. This support facilitates additional verification or demonstration of the technology in order to increase it's commercial value or create market interest.

Commercialisation of Research and Development (CORD) aims to bring a new product idea/business venture from third level educational institutions to market. This funding is aimed at knowledge based campus companies and academic entrepreneurs.

    ACADEMIC-INDUSTRY R&D COLLABORATION
The Innovation Partnerships Initiative is a non-competitive funding mechanism established to assist industry in Ireland and any third level institution to work together on leading-edge research projects. It offers financial support to enable companies to undertake collaborative research with Universities and Institutes of Technology. Companies can avail of the opportunity to develop new innovations, which will lead to greater market share and drive up profits.

    INDUSTRY-LED RESEARCH PROGRAMME
The 'Joining Forces' initiative brings together groups of companies with a common research agenda to collaborate with Irish research institutes. This focuses research funding on areas which are appropriate for industrial exploitation in Ireland. This initiative is generating new opportunities for industry in Ireland.

    EUROPEAN RESEARCH PROGRAMMES
Enterprise Ireland can assist you to secure participation in the EU Framework Programme for R&D, the EUREKA and European Space Agency Programmes.
