Crest Solutions acquires Belgian company VistaLink
Cork-based industrial firm Crest Solutions has acquired Belgian company VistaLink for an undisclosed sum.
Both companies provide machine vision products to high-volume manufacturers in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and food and beverage industries.
Crest already ranks as an industry leader here and the takeover of the Mechelen-headquartered VistaLink will make the group one of the largest of its kind in Europe.
The companies employ 25 people each and Crest’s management said there was scope for job growth at the enlarged entity.
Crest chief executive Frank Madden said: "The synergy between two such market leaders will create exciting opportunities for growth in the machine vision industry at home and abroad.
"This increase in scale allows us to guarantee our clients a long-standing service and support. We also plan to draw on our combined expertise and resources to invest as much time as possible in R&D, to continue to provide customers with innovative and cost-effective solutions."
The head of software at Enterprise Ireland, Jennifer Condon, who ranks Crest as a client company, said the investment would add significant scale to the Cork company and would "greatly enhance their international reach".
"Crest will be able to leverage this important foothold in Europe to increase export sales and develop innovative products and services, securing and growing their business," she said.
