BioIncubation Facilities at Trinity College Dublin
The bioincubator at Trinity College Dublin's Enterprise Centre, which has been funded by Enterprise Ireland, is a 370 m2 self-contained building with state-of-the-art facilities offering an ideal environment for entrepreneurs. The Enterprise Centre is located on Pearse Street a 10-minute walk from TCD's main campus, and already houses a number of TCD spin-off companies including Eblana Photonics, Allegro Technologies, and other Enterprise Ireland supported companies.

As one of Ireland's largest research universities Trinity College Dublin has an international reputation in life sciences research. It is home to many of Ireland's foremost scientists in areas such as cancer, molecular biology, medicine, neurosciences and bioengineering.

Availability of Laboratories
Opened April 1 2004. 2 labs are occupied. 1 lab is available to rent

Lab Facilities
Gases / fume hoods / air handling standard available - separate metres for gas & electricity. Applications for access to specialised equipment on the TCD main campus to be agreed with individual departments.

Office Space
Provided as part of the rental package.

Management Team
The Management Committee contains a wide breadth of experience and is made up of TCD's Director of Research & Innovation Services, Director of Buildings Office and representatives from the Enterprise Centre as well as from Enterprise Ireland's Lifescience and Food Commercialisation Group (EI Bio).

Does TCD take equity in companies?
Equity is not normally taken in companies external to the College. An established or potential linkage to the TCD research community or to the University is preferred.

Duration of Tenancy
Licence for 2 years initially with an option to extend for 1 further year.

Dr Sean Mulvany, Commercialisation Specialist Enterprise Ireland Lifescience and Food Commercialisation Group (EI Bio) team based in the O'Reilly Institute on the TCD Campus. They work closely with Research & Innovation Services and with the academics and entrepreneurs to drive the commercialisation of life sciences research. The EI Bio team in TCD offer the bioincubator clients access to a range of services provided by Enterprise Ireland and EI Bio including technology transfer and commercialisation assistance, start-up promotion and marketing and competitive intelligence and business database support.
