BioIncubation Facilities at University College Cork
The Enterprise Ireland -funded University College Cork (UCC) Bio-Incubation Centre is located on the third floor of the UCC Food Science and Technology Complex on College Road, Cork. The facility consists of a newly refurbished 411m2 suite of laboratory and office units dedicated to the needs of start-up bio-businesses engaged in product and business development. The Centre is situated at the hub of UCC's Internationally renowned Food/BioScience complex consisting of the BioSciences Institute, the Alimentary PharmaBiotic Centre and the Departments of Food and Nutritional Sciences and Process Engineering. It is also within convenient range of Cork Airport, train and bus stations, Cork City centre Cork University Medical & Dental Hospitals, the Mercy hospital, the National Microelectronics Centre (NMRC) and Cork Institute of Technology (CIT).

Individual unit facilities: 1 fume cupboard, 1 or 2 laminar airflow hoods (depending on lab); Work benching, modular drawer units, and write-up bench; Utilities: Air-conditioning, telephone and internet lines, tap water, 2 and 3-phase electricity, supply lines for natural gas and three other specialised gases; Security and safety: 24/7 manned-security, Swipe-card access, fire and smoke alarms, CO2 alarm and O2 depletion alarm, safety shower, fire-extinguishers,
Communal/shared facilities: Wash/prep room; dishwasher, drying cabinet; 4º refrigerated store, 30º and 37º incubating rooms, distilled water supply (8 l/hr), large autoclave, large centrifuge. Access to specialised equipment on the UCC campus (including the UCC Food Processing Hall) can also be arranged.
Office Facilities
Four offices (9m2, 11m2, 2 x 16m2) across corridor to labs. One 20m2 meeting room (accommodates 8 persons). Utilities: Air-conditioning, 2-phase electricity, internet and phone lines.
