The bioincubator at the Science and Engineering Technology Building, NUIG, which has been funded by Enterprise Ireland is a 320 m2 state-of-the-art wet lab facility offering an ideal environment for entrepreneurs. The Science and Engineering Technology Building is located on the main NUI Galway campus, and already houses a number of NUI Galway spin-off companies and other Enterprise Ireland supported companies.
National University of Ireland Galway
The National University of Ireland Galway campus is home to numerous Centre's of excellence in the biological and biomedical sciences including the National Centre for Biomedical Engineering Science, The National Diagnostics Centre, the Martin Ryan Institute for Marine Research and the Environmental Change Institute. NUI Galway has had a strong culture of innovation dating back to the early 1980's when the first Irish small business incubation units were opened on Campus. The new bioincubators complement the existing incubators and provide a focus for the commercialisation of the results of biotechnology research in the western region.

Mr.Peter O'Fegan Bioincubation Specialist, and Dr Maura Glennon, Project Manager are part of the Enterprise Ireland Biotechnology Directorate (EI Bio) team based in the National Diagnostics Centre, NUI, Galway. They work closely with Research & Innovation Services and with the academics and entrepreneurs to drive the commercialisation of life sciences research.
The EI Bio team in NUI Galway offer the bioincubator clients access to a range of services provided by Enterprise Ireland and EI Bio. including technology transfer and commercialisation assistance, start-up promotion and marketing and competitive intelligence and business database support.
